1991

  • Thorsys Computer Systems Consultants initiated its activities as the provider of computer support for the BackOffice system at the South Australian Meat Corporation (SAMCOR). Areas of support included stock control, sales orders, purchase orders, general ledger, debtors and creditors

1992

  • SAMCOR issued a requirement for a carton weighing system, to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract

1993

  • SAMCOR issued a requirement for a slaughter floor system, to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract
  • Thorsys successfully converted the SAMCOR BackOffice system from a Prime mini-computer to a Sun Sparc computer running UNIX

1994

  • Warwick Bacon Company / John Dee (Warwick, Queensland) issued a requirement for a full abattoir system (including stock, orders, debtors, slaughter, carton weighing, loadout) to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract

1995

  • Overland (Gepps Cross and Kangaroo Island, South Australia) issued a requirement for a Dos based carton weighing system, to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract
  • Thorsys opened a retail computer sales and service division in Ridgehaven, South Australia

1996

  • Pace Trading (A division of Conroys) (Adelaide, South Australia) issued a requirement for a Windows Carton Weighing system with network support, to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract
  • Consolidated Meat Group (Rockhampton, Queensland) issued a requirement for a partial abattoir system (including specifications, stock, carton weighing, loadout) to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract

1997

  • Thorsys relocated its head office to Sydney, New South Wales
  • Lobethal Abattoir (Lobethal, South Australia) issued a requirement for a slaughter floor system to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract
  • Stockyard Meat Packers (Grantham, Queensland) issued a requirement for a full abattoir system (including specifications, stock, orders, slaughter, cut packing, carton weighing, loadout) to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract
  • Thorsys established an office in Brisbane, Queensland
  • Northern Co-operative Meat Company (Casino, New South Wales) issued a requirement for a partial abattoir system (including specifications, stock, orders, carton weighing, loadout) to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract
  • H.W. Greenham & Sons (Tongala, Victoria) issued a requirement for a full abattoir system (including specifications, stock, orders, slaughter, carton weighing, loadout) to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract
  • Thorsys contracts 2 people to Digital, on the Year 2000 Compliance testing at Optus

1998

  • Thorsys relocated its support office to Brisbane, Queensland.
  • In conjunction with Amcor Fibre Packaging, Thorsys developed and installed a carton order, forming and delivery system with realtime video and computer overlays.
  • Nolan Meats (Gympie, Queensland) issued a requirement for a full abattoir system (including livestock, specifications, stock, orders, slaughter, carton weighing, loadout, distribution) to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract.
  • Thorsys contracts 2 people to IBM, on the Year 2000 Compliance testing at Optus and Telstra.
  • Thorsys developed a Livestock module integrated into the standard suite of programs.
  • Swan Hill abattoir (Victoria) issued a requirement for a full abattoir system (including livestock, specifications, stock, orders, slaughter, carcass loadout, distribution, skins and hides) to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract.
  • Thorsys takes over all aspects of Ausmeat software, including Abcost, Abtag, Amis, existing customer sites, and copyright.
  • Q Meat issued a requirement for the replacement of their Beef and Smallstock lines at both Cannon Hill and Ipswich, to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract.
  • Thorsys integrates into the Viascan suite of systems.

1999

  • Thorsys develops and releases the Abtag 2000 product as a replacement of Abtag, and as a low cost option for new sites as well
  • Thorsys develops a integration model with Platinum Software (Accounting)
  • Thorsys develops and releases ODBC 3.5 compliance for all products, making them the most cross platform product available in the industry
  • Thorsys develops a Distribution suite of programs allowing for runs/drop off points/transport companies/freight costs etc.
  • Thorsys Tenders for and receives the contract for a full abattoir system at 2 sites for Lakeview Farmfresh Ltd in New Zealand.
  • Two new staff members join the Thorsys team
  • Northern Co-operative Meat Company (Casino, New South Wales) issued a requirement for the remainder of their abattoir system, 2 slaughter floors (including livestock, receivals, vendor declarations, slaughter floor, erp lookup, EC lookup, hides processing, boning room input) to which Thorsys tendered, and subsequently received the contract
  • In conjunction with the Northern Co-op, Cassino RSM (Booyong, New South Wales) issued a request for a full abattoir system including Stock Arrivals, Slaughter Floor, Offal Collection, Orders, Carcass Loadout, Carcass Competition
  • Rockdale Beef Pty Ltd issued a requirement for a full abattoir system, including Slaughter Floor, Boning Room, Loadout, Carcass Loadout, Stock/Inventory, Orders, and Integration to MFG PRO (QAD) Accounting
  • Three more staff members join the Thorsys team
  • Highchester Abattoir (Beaudesert, Queensland) accepted an upgrade to the Abtag 2000 system for Y2K compliance (now called Thorsys Small Systems)

2000

  • Vodusek Meats (Cobram, Victoria) issued a request for a partial abattoir system, including Livestock, Slaughter and Feedback, to which Thorsys tendered and received the contract
  • Darling Downs Bacon Co-Operative Association Limited (Toowoomba, Queensland) issued a request for a partial abattoir system, including Livestock, Slaughter and Stock, to which Thorsys tendered and received the contract
  • Churchill Abattoir (Ipswich, Queensland) issued a request for a partial abattoir system, including Livestock, Slaughter, Viascan and Stock, to which Thorsys tendered and received the contract
  • Australian Country Choice (Brisbane, Queensland) issued a request for a partial abattoir system, including Livestock, Slaughter and Stock, to which Thorsys tendered and received the contract
  • Thorsys installs its first export NLIS system for recording and updating of individual animal ID’s to the NLIS database at Northern Co-operative Meat Company (Casino, N.S.W.)

2001

  • Bunge Meat Industies (Corowa, Victoria) issued a request for a full abattoir system including Livestock, Slaughter Floor, Boning Room Input, Carton Weighing, Stock / Inventory and Loadout, to which Thorsys tendered and received the contract
  • Installation of the new Thorsys Applicator at Northern Co-operative Meat Company (Casino, N.S.W.)
  • Vodusek Meats (Cobram, Victoria) issued a request for a remainder of the abattoir system, including Carton Weighing, Costing, Boning Room Input and Loadout to which Thorsys tendered and received the contract
  • Thorsys releases its Graphical Label Design (GLD) program for designing any label with a drag and drop interface
  • In co-operation with Blush Consulting, Thorsys install a domestic NLIS system for recording and updating of individual animal ID’s
  • Thorsys release the latest revision Touch Terminal with Socket 370 PIII capabilities, new hi-bright screen, later model touch sensors and updated stainless case
  • Thorsys develops a multitasking, multithreaded NT Service for its loadout processing, using the standard Telnet port. The service is compatible with any telnet based client including Symbol, Intermec, Psion etc.
  • Installation of the new loadout service at H.W. Greenham (Tongala, Victoria)
  • Installation of the new loadout service at Northern Co-operative Meat Company (Casino, N.S.W.)

2002

  • Installation of the NLIS system at H. W. Greenham
  • Okinawa Abattoir (Okinawa, Japan) issued a request for a complete abattoir starting from vacant land. Advanced Food Technology (AFT Japan) and Thorsys provided a joint tender, and received the contract. Thorsys is to provide the full slaughter system including Livestock, Slaughter Floor, BSE Sampling, Chiller Assessment, DNA Sampling and Carcase Loadout. The system takes full advantage of the new multi language, .NET development and new RF products
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 now runs happily on the Thorsys Touch Terminal version 3
  • Installation of the new loadout service at Valley Beef
  • Thorsys goes .NET (DotNet). After extensive development in Brisbane, Thorsys is about to install the new .NET version of the Slaughter Floor, Carcase Loadout and DNA RF Scanning. The new versions allow for total scale control through parameters, multi threaded background tasking, multi language screens from the same executable, MS ADO database lookups, Terminal Services Updates and more…
  • Thorsys upgrades its RF scanning to 802.11b Wi-Fi products. Using the Symbol PDT8100 or the Intermec 710 Mobile PC’s, Thorsys has migrated the DNA collection software to Microsoft PocketPC operating system
  • Microsoft Windows XP now runs happily on the Thorsys Touch Terminal version 3
  • Thorsys install a Hide Grading system for Casino Hide Traders (Casino, NSW) integrated to the exiting slaughter floor system at NCMCO. This is a special project done for CHT where CHT retain the rights to the system

2003

  • Casino RSM (Booyong, NSW) issued a request for the upgrade of existing systems and new boning room and loadout systems, to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Nolan Meats issued a request for a new scanning and freezer allocation system for the Brisbane site, to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract. Thorsys implemented the new .NET loadout system written for pocket PC’s on an 802.11b RF network
  • Installation of the NLIS system at Swan Hill Abattoir
  • Swickers Bacon Factory (Kingaroy, Queensland) issued a request for a complete abattoir system including Slaughter Floor, Carton Weigh, Stock Control, Loadout and Integration to Great Plains, to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Thorsys converts the loadout system to .NET for installation at Nolan Meats

2004

  • HWG Head Office (Port Melbourne, Vic) issued a request for a new cold store system, capable of combining multiple plants and supplying to orders, to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • HWG Tasmania (Smithton, Tas) issued a request for the installation of new boning room and loadout systems, to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • QAF (Corowa, Vic) issued a request for the upgrade of existing systems and slaughter floor, to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Thorsys integrates the full MSA (Meat Standards Australia) Grading into its Slaughter and Chiller Assessment package. Thorsys is the first, and at the time only, supplier to be able to provide the MSA Grading as part of its own system to reduce workloads and double handling by the Chiller Assessors

2005

  • Thorsys integrates the MSA (Meat Standards Australia) Hot Grading model into its Slaughter and Chiller Assessment package
  • Thorsys releases a stand-alone Chiller Assessment Module for customers that do not have RF coverage in their chillers
  • Thorsys integrates the NLIS Tailtag Free requirements into its Slaughter Module at all Victorian sites
  • Thorsys is contracted to rewrite the Data Collection software for MSA (Meat Standards Australia)
  • Hardwicks (Kyneton, Vic) issued a request for the installation of an entire system including livestock, slaughter floor, boning room and loadout systems, to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Thorsys trial the new 15″ TouchTerm at Swickers Bacon Factory (Kingaroy, Qld) ready for the launch at FoodPro 2005
  • HWG Tasmania (Smithton, Tas) issued a request for the installation of new livestock, costing, slaughter and boning room input systems, to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Swan Hill Abattoir (Swan Hill, Vic) issued a request for the installation of new boning room and loadout systems, to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Diamond Valley Pork (Vic) issued a request for the supply of livestock and slaughter systems, to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract

2006

  • Freshpork (Timaru, NZ) issued a request for the installation of new Livestock, Slaughter Floor and Carcase Loadout systems to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Retail Meat Services (Auckland, NZ) issued a request for the installation of new Carton Weigh and Carton Loadout systems to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Thorsys integrates the NLIS Tailtag Free requirements into its Slaughter Module at all NSW and QLD sites
  • Thorsys releases its new NLIS Handheld product which allow users to make updates and enquiries on the NLIS database from anywhere that has mobile phone coverage
  • Thorsys exhibits at the World Meat Congress in Brisbane
  • Thorsys exhibits at Beef 2006 in Rockhampton
  • Thorsys exhibits at CEBIT 2006 in Sydney
  • Diamond Valley Pork (Laverton, VIC) issued a request for the installation of new Carton Weigh, Carton loadout and Carcase Loadout systems to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently recevied the contract

2007

  • Thorsys starts re-development of its on-floor solutions in Microsoft .NET
  • Thorsys installs its Microsoft .NET Slaughter Floor system at 2 customer sites
  • Thorsys installs its Microsoft .NET (Windows Mobile) Carton Loadout system at 2 customer sites

2008

  • Thorsys re-structures and moves its head office to Adelaide, and in the process form a strategic alliance with Barcode Dynamics to take over its hardware lines, including the Thorsys TouchTerminal
  • Thorsys installs its Microsoft .NET Carcase Loadout system at 2 customer sites
  • Carpenters (Fremantle, WA) issued a request for the installation of new Boning Room Input,Carton Weigh and Carton Loadout systems to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Baxters Meats (Laverton, VIC) issued a request for the installation of new Carton Loadout and Carcase Loadout systems to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract

2009

  • Thorsys develops its Web Based MSA ‘What-If’ system allowing customers to model MSA and Kill data to provide best boning group scenarios

2010

  • Thorsys installs its recently developed Microsoft .NET Carton Weigh system at 3 customer sites across the country
  • Thorsys integrates its carton weigh system to the Eagle Fat Testing machine, receiveing live CL carton values and posting to LED screens for feedback to boners

2011

  • Thorsys moves into new offices in the Adelaide CBD
  • SunFoods (Kingaroy, QLD) issued a request for the installation of new Carton Weigh and Stock systems to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Westside Meats (Bacchus Marsh, VIC) issued a request for the installation of new Carton Weigh, Stock and loadout systems to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract

2012

  • GBP Australia (Poowong, VIC) issued a request for the installation of complete processing system, including livestock, slaughter, boning room, stock, loadout and sales orders to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Thorsys releases its first iPhone app for Livestock Purchasing, and integration to the Thorsys system

2013

  • Westside Meats (Bacchus Marsh, VIC) issued a requirement for the remainder of the abattoir system including feedlot integration, livestock, hides and skins and slaughter, to which Thorsys tender and win the contract
  • G & B Gathercole (Carrum, VIC) issued a request for the installation of new Sales Order, Stock, Distribution and loadout systems to which Thorsys tendered and subsequently received the contract
  • Thorsys releases its first Windows 8 Mobile app for Livestock Purchasing, NLIS query and transaction send and integration to the Thorsys system
